Over-regulation has killed airborne drone sales around the world so DJI has opted to create a ground-based "drone" with huge STEM/STEAM potential.

This is a fantastic way to get kids excited about robotics and programming. In fact I think this product may succeed where so many similar attempts have failed -- and that's because DJI have focused on the "fun" element as much as the tech stuff.

Hell, it's a robot truck with guns!!! What kid wouldn't kill for that?

However, the US$500 price tag is pretty steep so it remains to be seen whether that is too much of a barrier to sales.

What do readers think? Is this a cool piece of kit or what?

I wonder if it has a SAM attachment so I can shoot down all the out of control drones I hear about :D
I think that with a US$500 price tag, the "children" will be nearer our age than that of a kid/teenager. This side of a lotto win I will just have to watch the clips on YT.

Wow... imagine if this thing could hook into Elon Musk's network of orbiting internet satellites (let's call it 'SkyNet'). What would happen once it became sentient and is Arnie really to old for yet another sequel? :-)
