Stuffing goodies into the microwave, or even the garden shed or handy container is going to be a waste of time with no mains electricity. Unless you can pull the solar panels off the roof and into the container in the time between the first warning and the arrival of the CME. I suppose we could always erect the panels on the container and keep the inverter and batteries inside it, then it would only need the cable linking the micro power station to the outside world to be severed.

Whoops! And some sort of earthed wire mesh thrown over the panels or they would be toast too.
