Hype or vision of the future? (16 Nov, 2017)

How far into the video did you get before you realised it was just total BS?

How long do you think it would take before your neighbour or your mother realised this was just hype?

How many people will take this as an accurate prediction of what the future holds and therefore the evil that drones will represent?

Does the hysteria that this sort of fake-news video creates really do anything other than scare people and produce awful knee-jerk regulation and legislation conceived out of fear, uncertainty and doubt?

i had problems getting past thinking it would be a good advert for a new computer game

call of duty .. black ops .. drone killer expansion

other than that it was .. how much power would that thing need to store

Not even a little bite from me.
I do not consider even IBM's Watson to be true AI. Watson would not run for long on a 3.7V 150mAH battery and those tiny props and motors woulh have trouble moving it.

The two oldest winglets are engrosed in NCEA exams right now. Motivation for them to study hard came in the statement that the mean IQ was around 80 (citation needed, the number was chosen at random) and that meant 50% of the population was below that value. I invited them to select which side of the bell curve they wanted to reside.

For those on the foothills of the curve this type of drivel will be gospel.

~ 100 ( its going up )
<70 is ih

i did talk with some asian students who had scored high and found out they had all been taught how to do an iq test before they were measured
whereas back in the day we did ours cold with no hints as to what was happening or what it was at all

interestingly they can now accurately test a babies iq invitro ( reportedly more accurate than a latter life test )

there are reasons why the iq tests were stopped in nz and those done not published ( it was popular for schools to do in the 60s )

Well here's the damned problem... half the kids in school these days can't even spell "IQ" :-)

Took me 3 weeks of study and 2 resits to pass mine. But that was in the 80's. They'd changed the syllabus by then.

very hard to find neutral surveys with verifiable results and statements
but this place seems the least racially reactive

and i stand corrected ~87 is the world wide average .. ~100 is only the average for europeans

My BS detector went off at 42sec when he said "its flying itself". Yeah right, maybe one day, but not today it isn't.
