DIY tech projects... still a thing? (11 Jul, 2018)

Got an idea for a cool tech or engineering-based DIY project?

How about a 3D printer for metal -- does that sort of thing interest you?

If not that... then what else can you suggest as a DIY project for the "technically inclined"?

Does the average person even bother with DIY these days -- or is it easier to just go to eBay or AliExpress where there's bound to be something that will do the job (at least for the first week of ownership)?

Sounds like the Inventions Wanted section of ye olde Popular Mechanics.

Puts thinking cap on . . . .
