That was denied by the companies (allegedly) affected. But my, doesn't this start to smell a lot like McCarthyism and the "reds under the bed" situation of the 1950s?

Al Qaeda and ISIS have been dealt with so now we need a *new* enemy to justify massive military expenditure (contracts for the well-connected) and a continued erosion of rights and freedoms. Hey... "CHINA"!!!

it might be a moot point

https://home.nzcity.co.nz/news/article.aspx?id=280800

the first one goes up next year with another 10 by 2020
as its likely they will turn them on in stages and not one big hit
and
the area china will serve first is probably its own
and
we are also in that area
it could be as little as 8 months before a directional 1.5 meter dish might be able to pick it up

luckily i have a 3 meter dish in bits around here somewhere

China always has a plan to turn a kind gesture into a profit. I wonder what hook is cleverly concealed in this bait?

better huawei nodes i would think
it gives them such a huge door for so many things .. the mind boggles as to where they would go with it .. and little of it is good
