Just how much has the hobby of electronics changed in a single lifetime?

Answer: a lot!

Yes, it's hard to be heavily involved in electronics these days without doing at least a little code-cutting but the upside is that you can build some amazing devices with only a few components, especially when SBCs are involved.

And of course, the most popular SBC is the Raspberry Pi.

What is the most interesting/clever/impressive RP-based device you've seen?

Do you have an RP and if so, what do you use it for?

What's you're take on the way that the hobby has changed over the past 50-60 years?

Love the little Pis! I've got a few ranging from an early 1B, 2, 3, and Zero.
- 3D printing webcam monitor
- Weather webcams
- Digital radio receiver (FlightAware feed)
- Noise box: motion detection with speaker attached. Specifically for hiding in a tunnel and when someone walks by a loud steam train whistle plays :D
- next project (to be assembled) 10x10 large LED outdoor display (Christmas decorations)
- oh, and one cooked Pi previously used as a media centre but cheap 5V wall wart shorted out sending 240v through Pi, and into back of large Plasma TV. Nothing survived that one.

Embarrassingly yes. That was an expensive lesson.
