Hello? Where's the PM's science adviser?

Excuse me... hands up everyone (I mean *anyone*) who still thinks that hydrogen is a viable fuel?

I expect that if this is Taranaki-based then the H2 will come from the cracking of complex hydrocarbons (ie: fossil fuels) so it's hardly a "green" source either.

Storage, transport, energy density and such are all huge factors loaded against the use of H2 as an effective fuel.

But hey, it's a great media story -- until the opposition find out that when you combine H2 with O2 you get that lethal dihydrogen monoxide chemical they were so worried about a few years back.
