[Only for AU User]
From 1 July 2018, Australian goods and services tax (GST) 10% will apply to each order valued at A$1,000 or less, and AliExpress is required by law to collect such GST and remit to Australian Taxation Office.

Most overseas etailers have already signalled to the ATO that they can "get stuffed".

Why on earth would Ali Express (or any other overseas online seller) sign up to become an unpaid GST collector for the ATO whilst, at the same time, effectively making themselves 10% less competitive than other online etailers when viewed by Aussie customers?

The sheer arrogance of the Australian and NZ governments in believing that they have *any* control over foreign owned companies which have no physical presence in NZ.

aliexpress is a bit strange in some areas
bending over for overseas laws or perceived laws is one of them

to this day you cannot buy vaping mods and most spares for them from the aliexpress store
some of the stores hide it for some of the spares and will send to nz but most just wont and thats been the case for years
