Pass the buck "John"

Postby aardvark_admin » Wed Jul 29, 2015 7:19 pm

I wrote to the PM under his Minister of Tourism portfolio to point out that the recent change to CAA regulations could have a very large impact on NZ's reputation as an "adventure tourism" destination in years to come. The letter was also sent to the Transport minister.

Here is JK's reply:

Dear Mr Simpson

I am writing on behalf of the Prime Minister, Rt Hon John Key, to acknowledge your email below concerning the new CAA regulations.

The issue you have raised falls within the portfolio responsibility of Associate Minister of Transport, Hon Craig Foss. I note you have already copied your correspondence to that office and you can expect a reply in due course.

Thank you for writing to the Prime Minister.

So the tourism minister isn't the least bit concerned that regulations passed by his Transport minister could damage our reputation amongst a valuable core of our tourist market?

The more I see of this government, the more I despair.

What have we done?
