So the increased solar wind we're currently experiencing brings good news and bad news.
I wonder if we'll see any noticeable disruption to satellite-based services as a result of some birds falling out of orbit at a rate which is more than an order of magnitude faster than was previously the case.
This solar cycle is turning out to be a lot different to what was predicted -- what are the chances that we'll also get lashed by a dirty great CME?
Ah... so much fun and excitement, sitting in the front row of the galactic shooting gallery eh?
Sometimes we forget that we're actually on a spacecraft that is hurtling through space at a huge speed, protected from the lethal forces that surround us by little more than a weai magnetic field and a gossamer-thin atmosphere. Happy days!
