UK to introduce "digital services tax" (30 Oct, 2018)

The UK is applying a "digital services tax" to try and claw back some of the tax revenues effectively sidestepped by tech companies which engage in profit-shifting as a way of legally fiddling the books.

Here in NZ, our government is also trying to plug loopholes that have allowed companies such as Apple to pay absolutely no tax in NZ, despite having sales here in excess of $4 billion over the past decade.

Are governments doing enough -- and why are the groups such as the OECD and G20 taking so very long to move on this issue?

Self interest at the top perhaps?
