Who would be a tech entrepreneur? (22 Apr, 2021)

Damn I hate getting old.

If I was 10 years younger I might have jumped at the opportunity to create a new tech-venture servicing a global market's demands for one of my ideas that can be so easily commercialised.

Today however, not so much.

Of course the other (possibly biggest) problem is that I'd actually be *fighting* the local council who have made it very clear that they will not let me employ people (even part time) to work on one of my enterprises. They'd rather waste money trying to recruit overseas companies to come here.

Or maybe they could just fix the $4m toilets they wasted huge amounts of ratepayers money on:

If the SWDC can't even cope with successfully implementing a long-drop, how the hell could they hope to deal with a tech company?

So much potential... so little intelligence :-(

Why are you even asking the council for permission? I didn't realise you needed council permission to start a business.

Because my workshop is at the airfield and they have all sorts of conditions and caveats on what you can do there. Also, the council seem to rejoice in making (certain) people's lives as difficult as possible. If I'm going to have to fight a battle, I've better things to do.

Well, I've emailed someone who knows someone who might just be a good connection with that idea.

We'll see what - if anything - happens.
