Why newer might not be better (11 Jun, 2021)

Could it be that manufacturers are being forced to redesign key electronic systems to use inferior parts simply because the "best" components for the job are presently unavailable?

Might this mean that the car, phone, TV and other items you buy today may be in some way inferior to that which they are replacing?

Is it perhaps advisable to examine closely the claims being made for new models, just to see if they are little more than an attempt to keep production lines rolling rather than an improved product?

Or just a new year's paint job (model) with the same ol' same 'ol as last year's inside?
