Am I imagining this? (31 Aug, 2021)

Did I imagine it or was this winter much milder than usual?

Combine this with the heat waves across the Northern hemisphere and is it becoming increasingly apparent that, irrespective the cause, our planet is definitely warming up.

Lucky for me... because I love the heat and I'll be long dead before the worst effects of climate change impact mankind but perhaps it really is time we ramped up the mitigation strategies, for the sake of future generations.

And how about Google's disingenuous moves to grab the keys to our skies? Not unexpected?

Seems to have been normal to me, a few cold snaps at home. But, then I have been tainted as I have had a few trips to the Mainland, and they really know how to do cold. I remember several times there scraping ice off the car in the mornings.

Depends where. Hawke's Bay's just had nearly a week of frosty mornings.

Yet not so many in the weeks closer to the winter solstice.

Despite some periods of heavy winter rain in the last few months, there were longer, drier spells in between.

I can recall irrigating established trees in mid-winter, 15-20 years ago.

Maybe we just pay more attention to the weather patterns, as we get older?

It was weirdly mild, yet also the coldest winter we'll ever have again.

It depends greatly upon your perception - and how your brain functions in sensing data from your receptors and environment?

Any changes we should be aware of?
Metabolism? Diet? Medication?

If you check the temperature logs, it has been colder.

According to Niwa (at: https://niwa.co.nz/climate/monthly ):

May 2021: Temperatures were above average (0.51-1.20°C above average) or well above average (>1.20°C above average) for many parts of the country

June 2021: It was New Zealand’s warmest June on record, with the nationwide average temperature 2.0°C above average

July 2021: Temperatures were above average (0.51-1.20°C above average) or well above average (>1.20°C above average) for most of the country

So where are you getting your incorrect data from? :-)

Winter here in Greymouth was not remarkably cold. In terms of temperature it was fairly mild. It was however extremely wet. The ground around here is absolutely soaked. Even areas with good drainage, on sloping ground is completely waterlogged. I have some lawn areas where the grass is dying off because the roots are just sitting in water.

NIWA data is massively inaccurate. Still is.
The Climate Research unit has repeatedly refused to use it in their 'models' as the uncertainty is horrific.
NIWA were even caught modifying raw data, by their own omission.
