Banks Bunks...

Banksey has resigned from Parliament effective Friday.

No by-election though. Too close to a General Election.

Did he jump or was he pushed?

Surely JK will be standing up and demanding that his "honest" mate stays in parliament until the end -- lord knows we need all the honest politicians we can muster (LOL)

He had no choice as he's been convicted regardless of what Debbie Coddington says. Nothing Johnny can do about that!

Generally there won't be a by-election because it is too close to the General Election.

A screw... you're wrong.

He has *not* been convicted (yet)... that won't happen until August 1st (how convenient).

First the police found "insufficient evidence" so refused to prosecute, now the courts, although finding him guilty, manage to postpone issuing a conviction until *after* parliament rises before the election.

So many happy coincidences eh?

If they had waited until 1 August they would have had to recall parliament for a special session to pass a resolution to not hold a by-election. This would have been a major inconvenience and a cause of embarasement for the Govt.

Emphasis mine. He has been convicted, he's just waiting for sentencing that's all.

The fact that the Court is fiddling it is somewhat disturbing.

How long is the usual wait between verdict and sentencing anyway?
The defendant needs time to prepare and submit a brief outlining why they don't deserve to be locked up and the key thrown away, likewise the prosecution needs time to prepare one showing they are a true menace to society and kept away from children and small animals.

I would like to know how much it'll "cost" you or whereabouts your standing in society has to be before the cops are able to find "insufficient evidence" against your crimes.

Aye Goosey. The Fuzz were in the process of investigating Kimmie. Didn't want to 'muddy' the waters so to speak.
