Google/YouTube have done it again (11 Nov, 2019)

Is the end nigh for the YouTube we've all come to love and cherish?

Is Google hell-bent on turning YouTube into just another Netflix with professionally created content highly loaded with ads?

Why are they making such dramatic changes to the user-interface despite howls of protest from users? Is it simply to make it easier to force-feed people the content that Google wants you watching, rather than the content you would otherwise choose?

And how long before non-monetized videos start disappearing from the search results, or perhaps even from the platform entirely because they are not commercially viable for YT to serve up?

Once YouTube has become just another Netflix, will there be anything to take its place and restore the ability for regular folk to upload videos that can be watched by other regular folk?
